In August, 2008, Ryo Ishikawa won Kansai Open for his first victory as a professional. He was the leader throughout the four days of the tournament. Ryo Ishikawa was full of joy as he held the large championship cup.The first four months of his first year as a professional had been marked by a succession of failures at qualifying tournaments, and the lack of expected results had caused him considerable anguish. Although not a Japan Golf Tour tournament, this victory planted in Ryo Ishikawa the seeds of a vigorous self-confidence.
