As the defending champion of this championship, Ryo Ishikawa started to round the final day in the tie for 14 place with 7 strokes behind the leader. His winning the championship seemed to be hopeless. But he shot many birdies in the middle of the round and succeeded in moving up. In the 17th hole (par-3), he shot his second career hole-in-one. Ryo made a nice tee shot by swinging his #4 iron. The ball landed just on the center of the green with a little draw, rolled toward a pin on the back left, and then dropped in the cup. Ryo missed a shot in the final 18th hole, and after all he resulted in the tie for 8 place with 4 strokes behind the leader. But the gallery applauded him after his second hole-in-one in the tour since the Panasonic OPEN last year.
