Ryo Ishikawa started his 2012 season with the participation in the second tournament of the U.S. PGA tour, the Sony Open in Hawaii, held in Hawaii.
Ryo frustrated with his performance on the first day, while he hit the green in regulation but missed taking birdies. On the par-5 18th hole of 551 yards, he provided highlight by succeeding in putting the ball hit from the remaining 234 yard point with two strokes on the green, just 2m on the right from the pin, making an amazing eagle. But he got a late start by finishing the tie for 80th at one-over par after all. On the second day, trying to play catch-up, Ryo had a good feeling about his shots and putts but he actually finished making even par with four birdies and four bogeys affected by small mistakes he made. As a result, Ryo missed the cut finishing the tie for 94th place at a one-over par.
He does not return to Japan but stays in the United States to prepare himself for the fourth tournament of the U.S. PGA Tour, the Farmers Insurance Open, held in California from the 26th.
